Admin Image Widget

A FileField Widget that displays an image instead of a file path if the current file is an image. Could also be used with sorl.thumbnail to generate thumbnail images. **Example** class FileUploadForm(forms.ModelForm): upload = forms.FileField(widget=AdminThumbnailWidget) class Meta: model = FileUpload class FileUploadAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): form = FileUploadForm admin.site.register(FileUpload, FileUploadAdmin)

Datetime widget

This widget uses: [DHTML Calendar Widget](http://www.dynarch.com/projects/calendar/). It is very simple implementation but may be easily extended/changed/refined. 1. Necessary files: First download calendar package and extract it to your MEDIA folder (MEDIA/calendar/...) You'll also need a small gif that will be shown as a button that allows user to display calendar. By default this 'gif' is searched at '[MEDIA]images/calbutton.gif' but you may change this path in the code (calbtn variable). You need to download or create callbutton.gif image by yourself (it is not included). 2. Include css and js files in your page (as shown in the comment in the code). 3. In form code assign a widget to a field as usual (see newforms documentation for more details). 4. It is possible to change date format by specifying different value for 'dformat' attribute of widget class. If you get javascript errors while trying to open calendar try to use english translation file (calendar-en.js). I've found that some translations, eg. Polish, are broken by default. In this case you should override your language translation with english one and translate it by yourself (it is easy).

Link raw_id_fields (both ForeignKeys and ManyToManyFields) to their change pages

**UPDATE: Now works in Django 1.4** Based on luc_j:s snippet (http://djangosnippets.org/snippets/2108/) to show values in ManyToManyFields in the admin. This snippets does that, but also links each value to its corresponding admin change page. To use, just set the raw_id_fields to the value you want, and let your form inherit from ImproveRawIdFieldsForm.

Replace model select widget in admin with a readonly link to the related object

This replaces the html select box for a foreign key field with a link to that object's own admin page. The foreign key field (obviously) is readonly. This is shamelessly based upon the [Readonly admin fields](http://www.djangosnippets.org/snippets/937/) snippet. However, that snippet didn't work for me with ForeignKey fields. from foo.bar import ModelLinkAdminFields class MyModelAdmin(ModelLinkAdminFields, admin.ModelAdmin): modellink = ('field1', 'field2',)

Multiple-Submit-Button Widget for Choice Field

Django administration provides three buttons for submitting the currently edited object. Each of them has a unique name and depending on the name that is sent to the server, the specific action is performed. I see this as an ugly solution and prefer to have a choice field in the form which would render as submit buttons with different values. Then the values would be checked instead of the names. Therefore, I created the `MultipleSubmitButton` widget. When `<input type="submit" value="Go" />` is used, the value sent to the server always matches the text on the button, but if `<button type="submit" value="go">Go</button>`, the value and the human representation might differ. To use the `MultipleSubmitButton` widget, pass it to the widget parameter of a `ChoiceField` like this: SUBMIT_CHOICES = ( ('save', _("Save")), ('save-add', _("Save and Add Another")), ) class TestForm(forms.Form): do = forms.ChoiceField( widget=MultipleSubmitButton, choices=SUBMIT_CHOICES, ) When you print `{{ form.do }}` in the template, the following HTML will be rendered: <ul> <li><button type="submit" name="do" value="save">Save</button></li> <li><button type="submit" name="do" value="save-add">Save and Add Another</button></li> </ul> When you submit this form and check the validity of it, `form.cleaned_data['do']` will return "save" or "save-add" depending on the submit button clicked.

DefaultValueWidget

Can be used if a form field should not be editable, but the current value or the value that will be automatically used should still be visible to the user. __init__ takes two additional parameters: **value** is the actual value to be used when saving the form, while **display** determines what is shown to the user when rendering. If *display* is not specified, *value* itself will be used instead. If *display* is a *ModelChoiceField*, *value* is assumed to be a primary key of the model, and the widget will automatically try to retrieve and use the string representation of the corresponding item.

Allow disabling options in a select widget

HTML allows an option in a <select> to be disabled. In other words it will appear in the list of choices but won't be selectable. This is done by adding a 'disabled' attribute to the <option> tag, for example: `<option value="" disabled="disabled">Disabled option</option>` This code subclasses the regular Django Select widget, overriding the render_option method to allow disabling options. Example of usage: class FruitForm(forms.Form): choices = (('apples', 'Apples'), ('oranges', 'Oranges'), ('bananas', {'label': 'Bananas', 'disabled': True}), # Yes, we have no bananas ('grobblefruit', 'Grobblefruit')) fruit = forms.ChoiceField(choices=choices, widget=SelectWithDisabled())

CheckboxMultiSelect with interable checkboxes

A widget for a checkbox multi select, adapted from the RadioSelect widget, which allows you to iterate over each choice in the template rather than outputting the whole thing as a ul in one go. {{ form.field.label_tag }} {% for option in form.field %} <span>{{ option }}</span> {% endfor %}

Widget for CommaSeparatedIntegerField with pre-defined choices

Widget for editing CommaSeparatedIntegerField with a set of checkboxes. Each checkbox corresponds to single integer value. So, choices should be pre-defined for widget. **Example** Assume, we need a registration form for some event with time frame for 3 days, starting at Monday. User can select any of 3 days, so we need to show 3 checkboxes. Here's the basic example for such form: class EventRegistrationForm(forms.Form): days = forms.CharField(widget=NumbersSelectionWidget( ['Mon', 'Tue', 'Wed'], range(1, 4)))

Add a CSS class to every field indicating what kind of field it is

The admin site uses a CSS class for each kind of field so that they can be styled easily. This snippet gives ModelForms a similar feature.
