This subclass of django.models.Field stores a python datetime.timedelta object as an integer column in the database. It includes a TimedeltaFormField for editing it through djangos admin interface. Feedback welcome. 2011-04-20: TimedeltaField can now be (de)serialized. Tested with JSON. 2009-11-23: `_has_changed()` added. Before form.changed_data contained timedelta FormFields, even if nothing changed.
I find Django's default YAML serializer output too repetitive, so I came up with this customized version that avoids outputting the model name for every single object, and makes the primary key into an index for the object's fields. This allows many simple model instances to be serialized as one-liners. See the module docstring for additional explanation and usage notes.
Uses the token generator located at django.contrib.auth.tokens as an authentication mechanism aimed mainly at API calls. Any POST request with a valid token and user parameter will work as if the user were logged in normally.
I have not extensively test this yet. But working for templates with embedded images. If you want to use Django template system use `msg` and optionally `textmsg` as template context (dict) and define `template` and optionally `texttemplate` variables. Otherwise msg and textmsg variables are used as html and text message sources. If you want to use images in html message, define physical paths and ids in tuples. (image paths are relative to MEDIA_ROOT) example: images=(('email_images/logo.gif','img1'),('email_images/footer.gif','img2')) use them in html like this: `<img src="cid:img1"><br><img src="cid:img2">` stripogram and feedparser modules are used for extract plain text from html message source. If you are going to define text partition explicitly, than you can comment out line 10,11 and 48.

Helpful for maintaining state of a BooleanField in the querystring, eg. checkbox=0 / checkbox=1
Firefox transparently follows redirects when AJAX calls return 3xx code. And it drops additional headers, X-Requested-With among them. Server treats redirected HTTP requested as non-AJAX. JS libraries has nothing to do here. At 16.03.11 bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=553888 has status "NEW" being reported at 21.03.10. Workaround is following: - in process_response(): if request.is_ajax() and response has status_code 3xx then put response["Location"] to session, otherwise unset session stored value (if it is there). - in process_request(): if not request.is_ajax() and request.path equals to stored session value then monkeypatch request.is_ajax() return True (before any views come into play). This results in smooth transparent redirects in Firefox, all treated as AJAX calls.
A simple way to log in and log out users. It's most likely nowhere near as good as the built-in login forms. This was more of a learning experience for me. Nevertheless, the script works. Usage: def some_view(request): check_login(request) Some explanation can be found here: http://bit.ly/ete0
Based on code from [mihelac.org](http://source.mihelac.org/2010/02/19/django-time-widget-custom-time-shortcuts/) Modified to work in Django 1.3.1. Put it in templates/admin/app_label/model/change_form.html
if you have multiple choice field in front and you need just a string contains chosen values this is it! Unicode encoding row related with another snippet - "Switched value typed choice field", In typical cases, you do not need to call additional methods.
Add login_required (or any other combination of decorators) to any view references by the urls created by patterns(...). My personal little itch as an example... urlpatterns += required( login_required, patterns('', (r'^api/', include(api.urls)), ) )
This widget renders choices as submit buttons. This may be a better choice than radio buttons + submit sometimes
