True Unique Boolean Model Decorator

This class decorator will help you when you want to keep a unique boolean (think a 'default' field which should only be only one set to true in a group). The interesting thing with this, is that it's possible to assign a subset of fields to be used, so that the uniqueness of the field will be guaranteed among only the subset (look at the Example section in the code to understand this behaviour). This function will take a model instance and return an insert statement for it. I use it for extracting a subset of my production data so that I can reproduce problems in a local environment. The quoting is for mysql, you may have to change it depending on your db backend. Also, it assumes the 'default' database.

CompressedTextField

I found my self doing data migration for a client, and also found that their old system (CSV) had 4 text fields that were 2 to 4MB each and after about 2 minutes of hammering the mysql server as I was parsing this and trying to insert the data the server would drop all connections. In my testing I found that if I didnt send those 4 fields the mysql server was happy to let me migrate all my data all (240GB of it). So I started thinking, "I should just store these fields compress anyways, a little over head to render the data, but thats fine by me." So thus was born a CompressedTextField. It bz2 compresses the contents then does a base64 encode to play nice with the server storage of text fields. Once I started using this my data migration, though a bit slower then without the field data, ran along all happy.

This will also allow for easier test set up against models that point to views. Tuned IPAddressField with IPv4 & IPv6 support using Postgres Network Field type

I wanted to store ipv4 and ipv6 ip's in django but I wanted to use the postgresql inet network field type: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.3/static/datatype-net-types.html and I wanted to use IPy.py IP objects in python. I followed these very helpful examples along with the django documentation: http://vaig.be/2009/03/numeric-ip-field-for-django.html http://www.djangosnippets.org/snippets/1381/ It took me awhile to figure out how this works (not that I completely understand it now..) and figured I would share it. If anyone finds problems with this or can make it better I will definitely use it.
