Template range tag

This is a simple tag that I am sure has been written before, but it helps people with the problem, 'how do I iterate through a number in the tempaltes?'. Takes a number and iterates and returns a range (list) that can be iterated through in templates Syntax: {% num_range 5 as some_range %} {% for i in some_range %} {{ i }}: Something I want to repeat\n {% endfor %} Produces: 0: Something I want to repeat 1: Something I want to repeat 2: Something I want to repeat 3: Something I want to repeat 4: Something I want to repeat

A GET string modifier templatetag

This template tag takes the current GET query, and modifies or adds the value you specify. This is great for GET-query-driven views, where you want to provide URLs which reconfigure the view somehow. **Example Usage:** `{% get_string "sort_by" "date" %}` returns `all=your&current=get&variables=plus&sort_by=date`

Variable resolving URL template tag

** DEPRECATED**, use [django-reversetag @ github](http://github.com/ulope/django-reversetag/tree/master) instead. If you want to be able to use context variables as argument for the "url" template tag this is for you. Just put this code somwhere where it will be run early (like your app's _ _init_ _.py) and of you go. Usage: {% url name_of_view_or_variable arg1 arg2 %} **NOTE:** This may possibly break your site! Every view name that is passed to url will be tried to be resolved as a context variable first! So if there is a variable coincidentally named like one of your views THEN IT WILL BREAK. So far it works great for me, but keep an eye out for name clashes.

a simple tag with context

simple_tag is nice, but it would be useful if it had a "as variable" clause at the end. This little bit of code factors out the reusable parts and makes a tag almost as simple as simple_tag. Now you can create tags like the following: {% some_function 1 2 as variable %} {% some_function db person %} To add a new function, just do: register.tag("new_function", make_tag(new_function)) (I think you have to take the quotes off a string.)

  • context
  • simple_tag

Use MEDIA_URL in flatpages with SSL

This is a copy of [snippet 654](http://djangosnippets.org/snippets/654/), modified to allow dynamic MEDIA_URL, as you might need that for SSL in combination with [snippet 1754](http://djangosnippets.org/snippets/1754/). This is a template filter to enable the use of the MEDIA_URL setting in content from the flatpages database table. It searches for {{ MEDIA_URL }} and replaces it with the current MEDIA_URL added by a context processor. Note: To set up, drop the above code into a file called media_url.py in your templatetags directory in one of your INSTALLED_APPS, and add the filter to your flatpages template like so: {% load media_url %} {{ flatpage.content|media_url:MEDIA_URL }}
